About
Good Kind Work is the ceramic studio of Los Angeles-based artist Michelle Blade. Her work consists of hand-built, utilitarian objects — mugs, plates, bowls, and cups — constructed through a slab-building process and individually hand-painted and etched, making each piece one of a kind.
Blade’s practice is rooted in the natural world, and her forms reflect a folkloric visual language drawn from flowers, insects, and garden life. Her iconic ongoing “Gardener’s Series” features blue painted designs depicting butterflies, snakes, moths, botanicals, and figures at work in the garden.
Blade holds an MFA from California College of the Arts and maintains an active painting practice alongside her ceramics, with large-scale works exhibited in galleries.
